The attorneys will be meeting current and new clients as well as business colleagues from around the world. This industry important handbook is regularly published by Managing Intellectual property (Managing IP), one of the most prominent international IP law magazine, which is regarded as the leading source of news and analysis on all intellectual property developments worldwide.
On January 01, 2015 the last portion of amendments to the Russian Civil Code has entered into force, finalizing the IP law reform of 2014. These latest amendments regulate some of the copyright issues such as free public license, free use of copyrighted materials by public libraries (including digital use), free publications for Braille-users. The terms of validity of utility model and industrial design patents have been adjusted. The most important piece of new legislation is the introduction of statutory compensation for invention patent infringements.
On May 10-14 Ivanov, Makarov & Partners participated in the 136th Annual Meeting of INTA which took place in Honk Kong, China. The firm was represented by the attorneys Dmitry Makarov and Mark Chizhenok. During the conference our attorneys had meetings with the clients and colleagues from all over the world and participated in educational sessions on important professional topics. The conference demonstrated persistent interest of foreign right holders in acquiring and protecting IP rights in the Russia and neighboring countries.
